At High Point Wellness Centre, we are pleased to announce the launch of a new clinical service: Manual Osteopathy, led by Karolina Miszczyk (BSc, DOMP, RMT).Karolina has been a trusted member of our team for over seven years as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). Now, she brings her comprehensive training in manual osteopathy to provide care focused on total body health.
Treating the Body as a Whole, Not Just the Area in PainOsteopathy evaluates how joints, muscles, fascia, respiration, and the nervous system interact. Through gentle, hands-on treatment, it stimulates the body’s natural capacity to move, adapt, and recover.Common conditions such as bloating, constipation, acid reflux, or persistent coughing can generate tension in surrounding muscles, diaphragms, and connective tissue. Osteopathy explores how that tension affects the rest of the body, even when the connection to the pain is not immediately obvious.

Areas of Specialization
1. Visceral Osteopathy: Beyond Muscles and JointsGentle techniques focused on improving the mobility of the tissues surrounding internal organs. It is a complementary option to conventional medical care for addressing musculoskeletal discomfort related to the abdomen or pelvis, as well as bloating and constipation.

2. Cranial Osteopathy: Nervous System and RestSubtle and light techniques applied to the head and related tissues. They help release stress-related tension, promote bodily comfort, and support better sleep quality.

3. Pregnancy, Infants, and Children
- During Pregnancy: Postural support to relieve back, pelvic, and rib discomfort as the body changes.
- Infant and Pediatric Care: Gentle evaluations and touch for babies, especially recommended following assisted deliveries (forceps or vacuum), C-sections, or prolonged labors, checking the baby’s mobility and comfort.
Collaborative Care for Optimal HealthOsteopathy complements physiotherapy, chiropractic care, massage therapy, and naturopathic medicine. A cross-functional team approach is often the best strategy for managing chronic pain and complex clinical cases.
