Our Story
High Point Wellness Centre (HPWC)
Is an award-winning, multi-disciplinary health clinic recognized for its experience and leadership in delivering
Community, Corporate, and Sports Performance wellness programs and healthcare services.
Our Mission Statement
To care for, educate, and inspire our patients and community in their journey toward optimal health by delivering patient-centred, evidence-based collaborative treatment and health promotion programs for families, athletes, and workplaces.
Our story began in 1977, when our founder, Dr. Bruce Fligg, opened a community-based chiropractic clinic called High Point Chiropractic and Holistic Health Clinic.
The early growth of the clinic’s patient base was driven by Dr. Fligg’s passion, community involvement, and strong working relationship with surrounding medical professionals. Developing a reputation as a clinician that could be trusted and who delivered results, the clinic’s slogan became:
"Helping patients get more from life."
Dr. Dwight Chapin joined HPWC in 2000 as an associate and purchased the clinic from Dr. Fligg a year later, changing the clinic’s name to High Point Wellness Centre. Leveraging the well-established chiropractic clinic Dr. Fligg had built, Dr. Chapin set a bold strategic path forward to expand HPWC into a multi-disciplinary clinic providing Canadians with world-class, evidence-based, affordable access to cutting-edge professionals and customized health solutions. In realizing this dream, the team of HPWC clinicians now includes chiropractors, physiotherapists, massage therapists, dietitians, naturopathic doctors, registered nurses, mental health experts, ergonomists, fitness trainers, nutritional counselors, and a host of keynote speakers.
In 2014, Dr. Emily Danson, an associate Chiropractor at HPWC, became a business partner and minority owner of the clinic. In addition to her clinical practice at HPWC, she has also assumed the role of Director of Corporate Wellness. Under Drs. Chapin and Danson’s leadership, HPWC now proudly operates three divisions: Community Family Care, Corporate Wellness, and Sports Performance; our clinical experience, collaborative approach, and passionate dedication to the highest standards of care across all disciplines set us apart.
Our main clinic location in the Centre for Health & Safety Innovation, headquarters to Ontario’s largest provincially-run health and safety association – WSPS (Workplace Safety and Prevention Services), is where most of HPWC’s team provides care. However, we also place teams of HPWC clinicians into businesses and on the field as the on-site, preferred provider for The Globe and Mail, Canadian Football League (CFL)-Toronto Argonauts, Major League Rugby (MLR) – Toronto Arrows, and corporate wellness provider for General Mills Canada Corporation, Canada Post Corporation, Region of Waterloo, Moneris, Intuit, Oakville Hydro, Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), and many more businesses and community groups of all sizes.
Our passion to help you
get more from life
continues to motivate us to
grow, innovate, and inspire.
